08:14 < ketas> slaac should be enough
08:14 < becha_> (reminder: when asking a question to the speaker, please state your name & affiliation, and post either a question or a statement that you want me to relay to the speakerâ¦)
08:15 < widell> in the topic maybe? :)
08:15 < becha_> Ketas: do you want me to say your comment to the speaker/room on the mike?
08:16 < ketas> oh my, it's real becha_ !
08:17 < ketas> becha_: well, yes... that slaac should be somewhat enough with address + recursive dns configuration
08:18 < ketas> interesting topic... i missed the first part :(
08:19 < brian> Slides are all online, of course.
08:19 < ketas> so is video after talk...
08:19 < brian> Yup, just if you wanted to catch up right now. :)
08:20 < becha_> Ketas: & Ben is following this channel so he heard your "slaac is enough" comment.
08:21 < ketas> sometimes when i think about all those closed and weird and non-ipv6 stuff... i just want to start over with open platforms
08:21 < ketas> as home automation
08:22 < bnjmn> I didn't get the context of the slaac is engough comment by the way
08:22 < ketas> why
08:23 < bnjmn> I didn't get what is was in response of
08:23 < bnjmn> generally speaking tho slaac is enough ;)
08:24 < ketas> there was dhcpv6 consideration and re-consideration there
08:24 < ketas> oh, the boblight :)
08:24 < bnjmn> true, initiallay I wnted to go with dhcpv6 to controll which adresses went where
08:25 < ketas> dhcpv6 has it's points, i understand that
08:25 < ketas> sometimes... is global ipv6 even needed?
08:25 < becha_> Any questions?

08:27 < ketas> name & affiliation hmm... is that required?
08:27 < becha_> yes
08:27 < becha_> for now ;-)
08:27 < becha_> you can suggest a change of policy, thou...
08:28 < becha_> ketas, do you still want me to say your comment to nathalie?

08:28 < ketas> mmm, like real name?... and i'm not sure about the second part?
08:28 < ketas> becha_: yes, please
08:30 < Cougar> Just a side note: I played with HP LaserJet P3005 and was positively surprised that its IPv6 worked out of the box. Not all features but printing from IPv6-only workstation worked fine
08:30 < ketas> becha_: i have nice globally unique name, though, "sulev-madis silber" :P
08:31 < ketas> also why global address to light bulb, link-local should be enough

08:32 < becha_> Next speaker: Mark Townsley, Routing IPv6 in the Homenet
08:33 < ketas> i poked my isp today about ipv6, again
08:33 < ketas> "all core network ready... ipv6 not needed and cpe support bad"
08:33 < becha_> Ketas: and, and? "you are the first one to ever ask for it" ??
08:34 < ketas> no idea... i was promised that if i really really want it, contact again in second half of 2013... now it seems that interest went... no idea where
08:35 < ketas> but they are ready at least
08:35 < Cougar> do you have audio-only feed?
08:37 < shane> Hm... "all core network ready" could just mean that their vendors have a checked box that says "IPv6" on their marketing literature.
08:38 < shane> :)
08:39 < ketas> Cougar: what do you know about elion's ipv6?

08:57 < ketas> BSS27-RIPE: well, it just shares public keys and ip's over 3rd party?
08:59 < BSS27-RIPE> ketas: if it is as automated as Mark suggests I'd need to sign over control to FB or G+ - which is kinda not what I want in terms of implications
08:59 < ketas> BSS27-RIPE: i wish it would be totally p2p
09:00 < BSS27-RIPE> ketas: but you'd still need a system/interface that is usable by regular users or it would never be ...

09:01 < ketas> which may need large bw...
09:02 < BSS27-RIPE> people who knows how does this allready - I do with family at least ;-)
09:03 < ketas> what about people that don't...
09:03 < Cougar> do you mean distributed social network working like a email where anyone can keep their content in their own server or use some service provider for that?

09:05 < becha_> hi! :)
09:06 < shane1> "what is the nature of evil?" ... it's a bit early in the day for such philosophical discussions...
